The most profitable thing you sell is a sentence on your services page

A maintenance agreement is a subscription, and subscriptions are bought on exactly what arrives, how often and how to leave. Almost no competitor has a real page for it, which is what makes it worth building.

The maintenance agreement is usually the most profitable thing an HVAC company sells and the worst-explained page on its website. In most cases it is not a page at all: it is a sentence on a services page, next to repair and installation, with a phone number attached.

Why it deserves a page

A maintenance plan is a subscription, and subscriptions are bought the way software is: the buyer wants to know exactly what arrives, how often, what it costs, and how to leave. A sentence cannot answer those. A page can, and almost no competitor has one, which makes it one of the few places in this trade where a company can be obviously better rather than marginally different.

  • What happens at each visit, in the order a technician does it, so the value is visible rather than asserted.
  • How many visits a year, in which months, and what triggers the reminder.
  • The member benefits that actually matter: priority in the first cold week, the discount rate, waived call-out.
  • The price, monthly and annual, and what happens when somebody cancels.

Priority is the thing being sold

Nobody buys a maintenance plan because they want their system inspected. They buy it so that on the first freezing morning, when every contractor in the county is booked, they are not fortieth in a queue. That is the promise worth making explicit, and it is also the one a company has to be able to keep, because the plan sold on priority and delivered on a three-day wait is the plan that does not renew.

Build it as its own page with its own enquiry route, not a line item on a services page, and link to it from the repair pages, where the person reading has just been reminded why they would want one. The rest of what an HVAC site has to do is on our HVAC page.
