Patients do not search for physical therapy

They search for what hurts and whether they need a referral. A clinic site organised around modalities answers neither, which is why it loses to a hospital network it could have beaten.

Nobody searches for physical therapy. They search for what hurts, what they are recovering from, or what they want to get back to. That single observation explains why most clinic websites underperform: they are organised around modalities the clinic provides rather than the problems patients arrive with.

Condition pages, written by somebody who treats them

A page for each condition the clinic genuinely treats is the asset that keeps earning. It matches the language of the search, it answers the question before the booking, and it is the sort of page an AI answer can lift a paragraph from. The constraint is honesty about scope: a clinic with one specialism and twenty condition pages is making a claim it cannot support in the room, and the review that follows will say so.

The referral question is the highest-value sentence

Whether a patient can be seen without a physician referral depends on their state, and the detail varies: some states allow evaluation but limit treatment, some cap visits or days, and insurers add requirements of their own on top of the law. For a clinic this is the most valuable sentence on the website, and it is usually either missing or hedged into meaninglessness. The honest version names the state, says what the clinic's experience is with the common insurers, and tells the visitor what to do next.

Both of those are the same move: answer in public the question the visitor would otherwise have to ring to ask. The clinic that will not answer sends the patient to the one that will, and the intake side of this, where a condition sits beside a name on a form, is covered in what makes a contact form a HIPAA problem. The vertical version is on our physical therapy page.
