About the project
A lawn programme is sold town by town, and the two questions that stop a sale are whether this company covers the caller's street and what the programme costs. Neither is answered by a brochure site. On top of that the business has an existing customer base that needs to pay a bill without ringing the office, so the site is carrying acquisition and service at once, and the brand is loud enough that a generic template would have flattened it.
- A locations layer, because coverage is the first question every caller asks
- Quote request as the primary action, repeated at every scroll depth
- Bill payment and login kept visible for existing customers
- A learning centre, which is where the long-tail search demand actually sits
- Review count carried in the hero rather than buried on an about page
How we approached it
Build the locations layer first
This is the one vertical where per-town pages genuinely earn their place, and also where they most often fail. Each one had to name the work done in that town rather than swap a name into the same paragraph, which caps how many a business can honestly support.
Let the brand be as loud as it is
A mascot and a joke in the headline are assets in a market where every competitor sounds the same, so the design made room for them instead of sanding them down. The restraint went into the quote path, which stays plain while everything around it is playful.
Serve the existing customer too
Every bill paid online is a call the office does not take while somebody is trying to book new work. Putting login and payment in the top bar is not a design decision, it is an operations one, and it is usually the fastest return a site like this produces.
